The Dog Business
It’s not all a walk in the park
Be ready for the unexpected. Animals are unpredictable. You have to be able to swallow your ‘chill pill’ and go with it as events unfurl.
We recommend trying to develop a regular routine and stick to it as far as possible. But as sure as night follows day, you will need to vary it occasionally to compensate for behaviour, health issues, or simply the challenges of their 2-legged guardians.
Pet emergencies happen, sadly dogs die, and you have to think fast, act quickly, and be the voice of reason that saves the day.
Are you emotionally equipped for the extremes you may face?
Clients’ pets are much loved extended members of their family and they trust us to look after them when they’re in our care – however, dangerous, challenging or frustrating the situation that might arise.
Trust and reliability is what makes or breaks our reputations. Clients rely on us to show up on time, take care of their pets, stand-in in emergency, answer the door-bell at 11pm when they’ve locked themselves out and need to ‘borrow’ their house-key.
Can your client rely on you, in inclement weather or in the midst of life’s little emergencies to be there and to care without limitation?
